How to Change Negative Mindset & What To Do Instead
What is a Negative Mindset? We are all guilty of negative thinking at one time or another. What is negative thinking? It is when we find the worst possible outcome in a situation so we end up lowering our expectations.
We think we are not good enough, not smart enough and the more negative we feel… We start believing it. According to. John Teasdale at the department of Psychiatry at Oxford University, the article found on science direct(dot com), negative thinking can lead to depression. If we do not change our way of thinking it can make us feel anxious as well. This can lead to anxiety and spiraling depression.
So what do we do? How do you change your way of thinking?
Think about why you feel the way you do.
Are you comparing yourself to someone else? This is a no-no. Instead of comparing yourself to others why don’t you try learning from them. Do you feel stuck? Can’t figure out where to start or how to get better at something? Ask for help. Find books on the topic you’re trying to learn.
Write everything thing out, get all of your negative thoughts on paper then crumble it up and throw it away! 5 Bullet Journal Ideas to help write things out.
A negative mindset takes time to overcome, it starts with believing in yourself.

However, you like to exercise. Exercising has many benefits, it keeps you healthy, it is good for your brain, and it helps clear your mind. Take a few deep breaths and think of stuff that makes you happy. What lights you up inside. Think about why you like those things? What is it about those people you admire Or that song that inspires you? Again write it all out. Do you feel better? no more negative thoughts?
Clear your mind for just 10 minutes. Use breathing techniques. Breathe in and out slowly. You can make progress and Positive thinking can happen but takes time. This does not mean it gets rid of all your negative thinking all the time. These are just tips to help you through those negative thoughts. Like anything in life, these thoughts will run their course. It is all in how you deal with those thoughts or any thoughts, that is what matters.
This will take time and practice, do not give up on it. Think of something you are really grateful for? Did you smile? that is a start… Positive Thinking starts with you and your attitude towards it. Go make things happen! believe in yourself.
